- Nikon recently announced dropping it's film camera line back to two 35mm models, the F6 and the FM10. This is a huge deal and I think signals an end to use of 35mm photography. It might not end soon, but it's on the way out.

- I was introduced to the R project a few months ago. A friend and colleague uses it extensively and I'm in the process of learning the tool now. R has a lot of potential for use in the statistical analysis of hydrologic data. If you use statistics, I strongly encourage you to investigate use of R.
